I have Windows Vista or Windows 7. Should I install We-Blocker?

No, you should not. We-Blocker does not work on operating systems newer than Windows XP. Check to see if Internet Explorer's content filtering settings will work instead.

Does We-Blocker work on Macs?

No, We-Blocker only works on Windows XP or earlier.

I don't know anything about computers. How difficult is We-Blocker to install and use?

We-Blocker is very easy to install. We have specifically designed our software with the novice computer user in mind to keep the installation and operation of the software as simple as possible.

Make sure to write down your Master Password in a secure location to which only you have access, though. Otherwise, We-Blocker is difficult to remove, and may require a Windows system restore to fully remove.

What can I do if my PC runs slowly after installing We-Blocker?

You may notice a slight reduction in performance when browsing ONLY if you have the word-blocking feature activated, so check and make sure this is not activated if you see a reduction in performance. This is found in user settings ("Block sites that contain bad words").

I forgot my password; now what?

  1. Right-Click the We-Blocker icon in the lower right corner of the screen near the place where time is displayed.
  2. Select "Master Controls".
  3. Press "Forgot master password?"
  4. You will be prompted for your secret question. Type in its answer.
  5. You will then be prompted to change your master password. Do so.

Sometimes I get a blank page even when I hear the "blocked" alert. Why do I not get a blocked notification page?

Sometimes pages that have not been blocked have images that have been blocked on them. Instead of modifying the layout of the page, We-Blocker attempts to replace the image with a blank image that simply blends in with the background of the webpage, giving the appearance of a blank page.

How do I add a user?

  1. Right-Click the We-Blocker icon in the lower right corner of the screen near the place where time is displayed.
  2. Select "Master Controls".
  3. Enter your password.
  4. Select the "USERS" tab and click on Add User.
  5. Type in the new user’s name.
  6. Choose settings and a password for this user; Press "OK", then "Save and close".

How do I change the user that is logged in?

  1. Right-Click the We-Blocker icon in the lower right corner of the screen near the place where time is displayed.
  2. Select “Change current user”.
  3. Select the user you want; enter that user’s password; press OK.

What if I decide that I don't want We-Blocker on my computer? How difficult is it to remove?

As long as you remember your Master Password, We-Blocker is very simple to remove, and uninstalls completely from your computer.

  1. From the Start Menu, select "All Programs"/"WeWeb"/"WeBlocker Uninstall".
  2. When prompted, press "Yes","OK","OK".
  3. Type in your Master Password.
  4. Press OK once more.
